About The Position

We're searching for an experienced and passionate Engineering Manager to lead our Luau UI Ecosystem team at Roblox! In this role, you will play a key part in shaping the future of UI development at scale. You will lead a talented team of engineers, working closely with cross-functional stakeholders to define, scale, and execute the vision for the frameworks and UI components that power our flagship Roblox products. Our team’s mission is to improve performance, accelerate feature development, and elevate the developer experience for engineering teams across the Roblox App and Roblox Studio, all while ensuring accessible and consistent design. We aim to make developing flexible, performant, UI a delightful experience. As a leader, you are strategic, people-centric, and exceptionally skilled at driving alignment across diverse engineering and design organizations. Requirements

2+ years of engineering management experience, directly leading and developing engineering teams, alongside 6+ years of hands-on software development experience.
Strong foundational knowledge of frontend technologies, component-based UI frameworks (e.g., React), and design systems.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. You excel at cross-org collaboration, managing internal customer expectations, and driving technical consensus.
A strong eye for design principles and a deep commitment to accessible development (WCAG guidelines).
Experience treating internal frameworks/tooling as a product, using developer feedback to iterate and improve the ecosystem.
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

Manage, coach, and grow a high-performing team of frontend and systems engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Define the technical roadmap and vision for Roblox’s UI frameworks and design systems, balancing immediate developer needs with long-term architectural health.
Partner closely with Product, Design, and various Feature Engineering teams to ensure our UI ecosystem unifies design concepts into functional, high-quality Luau code.
Oversee the development and adoption of accessible UI components and patterns, ensuring compliance with global accessibility standards (WCAG).
Support and unblock internal "customer" teams, ensuring the component library and associated tooling genuinely accelerate feature delivery across Roblox Studio and the App.
Own the team’s agile processes, sprint planning, and delivery commitments, ensuring the team ships clean, maintainable, and well-documented infrastructure.
