About The Position

DoorDash is seeking an Engineering Manager with strong product sense to lead the development of transportation and logistics strategies for long-distance deliveries across the US. This team focuses on innovative, zero-to-one initiatives and scaling existing businesses to drive merchant growth and driver earnings. The role involves working on mobile, backend, and web components, including integrating with external aggregators and developing in-house TMS capabilities, with the ultimate goal of building industry-leading mid-mile transportation and logistics systems. The Engineering Manager will provide technical guidance, leadership, and development for a team of 8+ engineers across Android, FullStack, and Backend. Key responsibilities include owning the hiring process to build a diverse and inclusive team, collaborating with business and engineering leaders to understand needs and formulate product strategies, defining the product roadmap and vision with internal stakeholders, and partnering with analytics teams to measure product impact.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in people management, ideally leading a team size of 8+ and managing senior engineers.
  • Prior experience working on a user-facing product.
  • Extensive experience as an engineer in a product focused development environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance, leadership and development for a team growing to 8+ engineers across Android, FullStack and Backend.
  • Own the hiring process for your team, in partnership with recruiting, to grow a diverse and inclusive team.
  • Collaborate with business and engineering leaders at multinational corporations to help understand their business needs and formulate them into a world class product.
  • Engage with key internal business stakeholders to define the roadmap and vision for our product.
  • Partner with analytics and data counterparts to measure impact and success of products and features delivered.
