About the position
The job overview for this position is that the Machine Learning Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading a team in the development and deployment of machine learning models and systems. They will work closely with the VP of Engineering and ML Product Manager to execute the Deep Learning TTS strategy and ensure that the team is working on the right projects. The manager will also be responsible for providing technical expertise, managing multiple projects, collaborating with other departments, communicating progress to stakeholders, and hiring top talent for the team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of machine learning concepts, data science experience, strong technical and software development skills, management experience, and a strategic mindset.
Responsibilities
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, machine learning, data science, mathematics, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in designing and implementing machine learning models and systems
- 2+ years of experience in managing a team of engineers and/or data scientists
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strategic mindset and ability to align machine learning strategy with business objectives
- Experience working with large data sets and data visualization
- Familiarity with databases and data storage systems such as GCS or S3, and content management systems such as Hygraph
- Proficiency in software development practices and writing clean, defensible code
- Deep understanding of machine learning concepts and techniques
- Proficiency in Python and experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn
