As an Engineering Manager II, you will enhance functional team performance through advanced technical leadership and problem‑solving. You will focus on process improvements, ensuring efficiency and compliance with standards. Your analytical thinking and A&D regulatory knowledge will ensure our solutions are both innovative and compliant. In addition, you will lead Test and Validation activities, ensuring our systems are built right and are the right solution. You will guide teams in planning and executing verification and validation efforts aligned with organizational standards and test program processes. This includes overseeing development of test plans, test cards, and validation criteria; facilitating Test Readiness Reviews and Flight Readiness Reviews; and ensuring anomalies discovered during test execution are documented, tracked, and resolved. Your leadership in these areas will ensure that engineering solutions meet stakeholder needs, comply with mission‑critical requirements, and are validated in realistic operational environments. The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Typically 8+ years of progressive engineering experience, including 4+ years in a leadership or management role.
  • Extensive experience in test and validation within an engineering or aerospace environment.
  • Strong understanding of core engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proficiency with Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools, including analysis and simulation applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and serve as the approving authority for low‑risk Safety Review Boards and Technical Review Boards, supported by hands-on test operations and test hazard analysis experience.
  • Proven experience conducting or evaluating test hazard analyses.
  • Ability to lead, collaborate, and drive alignment across multi‑disciplinary design and development teams.
  • Must be able to work in an office environment or hybrid setting.
  • Ability to travel as required (up to 10% of the time).
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Clearly convey technical information, design specifications, and project updates to team members, stakeholders, and management.
  • Ability to understand technical documents, schematics, and electronic instrument measurements.
  • Ability to work with and collaboratively lead teams of engineers.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary engineering team to achieve project milestones.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of engineering products.
  • Monitor and control project costs to stay within budget.
  • Drive the development and implementation of technical solutions to complex engineering challenges.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
  • Mentor and develop engineering staff, promoting continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Present project updates and technical data to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Oversee the planning, development, and execution of test and validation activities to ensure engineering solutions meet requirements.
  • Collaborate with test engineering teams to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and validation plans.
