About The Position

StubHub is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on building the performer landing and event selection experiences for millions of fans on web and mobile. This is a technical leadership role aimed at driving consumer and business outcomes through strong execution, product thinking, and people leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality consumer experiences, building a high-performing team, and improving engineering quality, performance, and impact.

Requirements

7+ years of engineering experience, including technical ownership of production systems and business-critical software.
2+ years of people leadership experience, with a track record of hiring and developing high-performing teams.
Strong technical background in backend, infrastructure, APIs, or data systems (Java, C++, Python, or similar).
Proven ability to drive execution, define clear success metrics, and solve complex problems with data and rigor.
Skilled in managing ambiguity, prioritizing ruthlessly, and delivering under tight timelines.
Comfortable giving and receiving candid feedback, and modeling it for others.

Responsibilities

Drive measurable impact by identifying high-leverage problems, setting clear goals, and delivering solutions that produce quantifiable business and customer value.
Own team delivery with precision, ensuring commitments are met, blockers are resolved quickly, and progress is visible and tracked.
Hire exceptional engineers, actively coach performance, and make principled decisions to retain only those operating at a high level.
Use data and metrics to guide priorities, evaluate solutions, and continuously improve team operations.
Champion system design, code quality, reliability, and long-term maintainability across the team's domain.
Build a psychologically safe, inclusive team culture grounded in feedback, autonomy, and shared accountability.
Collaborate with Product, Design, and Data teams to align on priorities, coordinate dependencies, and deliver business-critical initiatives.
