Leidos’ Defense Systems / Manufacturing is seeking a talented and qualified Environmental Test Engineering Manager to join our Defense team in Huntsville, AL supporting the Common Hypersonic Glide Body (CHGB) Program. This role will oversee a diverse group of Engineers and be responsible for their growth. This position will also support the integration and testing of complex Avionics and Navigation/Guidance Systems, ensuring hardware and integrated systems performed as designed.

Requirements

A BS in Engineering or Engineering Management.
Candidate should have at least 5+ years of relevant experience and has 2+ years of experience supervising or leading teams and/or projects.
Experience in a MIL-STD-810 Test Environment
Background in Manufacturing and/or Test Engineering.
Ability to read and interpret Mechanical and Electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Experience working with a Multi-Disciplinary team.
Experience working with Thermal, Pressure, Acceleration, and Vibration test equipment.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
The ideal candidate would have experience in electronics/avionics/environmental testing and have a current DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

Manage a diverse Engineering Team consisting of approximately 8 Engineers of Multiple Disciplines.
Team development, with a focus on skills development, career growth, and retention using enterprise leader toolkits.
Perform targeted feedback sessions with employees.
Complete Performance Appraisals and identify individuals ready for Promotion.
Develop, maintain, and execute test procedures to support integration and vehicle delivery.
Analyze test results, generate Test Reports, and document Non-Conformances.
Collaborate with Engineering and Quality to support resolution of Non-Conformances.
Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management to meet our technical, schedule, and cost objectives.
