About The Position

Leidos’ Defense Systems / Manufacturing is seeking a talented and qualified Environmental Test Engineering Manager to join our Defense team in Huntsville, AL supporting the Common Hypersonic Glide Body (CHGB) Program. This role will oversee a diverse group of Engineers and be responsible for their growth. This position will also support the integration and testing of complex Avionics and Navigation/Guidance Systems, ensuring hardware and integrated systems performed as designed.

Requirements

  • A BS in Engineering or Engineering Management.
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of experience supervising or leading teams and/or projects.
  • Experience in a MIL-STD-810 Test Environment.
  • Background in Manufacturing and/or Test Engineering.
  • Ability to read and interpret Mechanical and Electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Experience working with a Multi-Disciplinary team.
  • Experience working with Thermal, Pressure, Acceleration, and Vibration test equipment.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.

  • Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
  • Experience in electronics/avionics/environmental testing
  • Have a current DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse Engineering Team consisting of approximately 8 Engineers of Multiple Disciplines.
  • Team development, with a focus on skills development, career growth, and retention using enterprise leader toolkits.
  • Perform targeted feedback sessions with employees.
  • Complete Performance Appraisals and identify individuals ready for Promotion.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute test procedures to support integration and vehicle delivery.
  • Analyze test results, generate Test Reports, and document Non-Conformances.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Quality to support resolution of Non-Conformances.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management to meet our technical, schedule, and cost objectives.
