As a Brushless Motor Embedded Software Controls – Manager / Sr Manager, you’ll be part of our Engineering team working as a hybrid employee. You’ll get to: Lead a cross-functional team across multiple product lines driving embedded software into brushless motor-driven end products. Manage all aspects of project execution, including design, development, integration, and testing. Provide team leadership and guidance across business and technical topics for system integration. Collaborate with supporting teams for subsystem design, testing, development, supplier selection, manufacturing, and product support. Lead the development of embedded software for brushless motor control products used in professional power tools and outdoor equipment. Support the design and development of sensored and sensorless algorithms as they pertain to brushless motor controls. Partner closely with battery charger, power conversion, and motor controls teams along with product development leaders. Work closely with NPI, product support, and manufacturing leaders to support successful product delivery.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, including Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Technical leadership experience with embedded product development.
  • 10+ years of engineering work experience.
  • 5+ years managing or leading teams.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, complemented by the ability to develop and deliver technical presentations.
  • The ability to collaborate and build consensus with stakeholders and teams to identify opportunities that drive innovation.
  • The ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams.
  • A demonstrated ability to build strong internal and external relationships and inspire teams, colleagues, and the broader organization.

Nice To Haves

  • A Master’s degree or higher in Engineering from an accredited curriculum is preferred.
  • Prior experience with embedded software development for motor drives, connected products including IoT such as Bluetooth and WiFi, and technology and product strategy is preferred.
