About The Position

Mixpanel is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Data Activation team. This team is responsible for managing the flow of data out of Mixpanel into customer stacks, building features like Cohort Syncs, Data Pipelines, and Real-Time Event Streaming. The role involves leading and growing an engineering team, shaping product direction, and setting technical standards. The team operates autonomously within a fast-moving, AI-first product environment, with engineers owning problems end-to-end. This position is part of the Infrastructure group, which focuses on high-scale customer data and acts as a force multiplier for the company's AI initiatives. The Data Activation team's mission is to enable customers to act on their behavioral data, transforming Mixpanel into critical data infrastructure.

Requirements

10+ years engineering experience; 4+ years leading engineering teams
Experience building and running infrastructure supporting real-world, customer-facing web applications.
Experience building and using AI-powered products in production environments.
Proven collaboration with product managers and designers on meaningful infrastructure.
Strong judgment in technical tradeoffs, backed by lessons learned.
Evidence of leadership through influence, alignment, and growing others.
Director candidates must have experience managing managers.
Skilled at navigating ambiguity, making tradeoffs, and bringing clarity to complex org structures
High level of ownership, accountability, and product intuition
