About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Technical Publications team within Honeywell's Commercial Fire business. This role will be responsible for managing the creation, maintenance, and delivery of high-quality technical documentation that supports our fire safety products and solutions. The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership skills with expertise in engineering documentation, engineering processes, and compliance standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • 7+ years in a technical role leading engineering design and engineering documentation, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of technical writing principles and documentation tools (e.g., Adobe FrameMaker, XML/DITA).
  • Strong understanding of technical manuals that accompany engineered products
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of global regulatory standards for product design (ie., UL)
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards for fire safety products.
  • Familiarity with digital platforms for content delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of technical writers and publication specialists.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability.
  • Define and implement documentation standards, templates, and best practices.
  • Ensure alignment with Honeywell branding and regulatory requirements for all regions, globally.
  • Oversee documentation projects from concept to delivery, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, and compliance teams to gather technical information.
  • Ensure all technical publications meet industry standards, including UL, NFPA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Maintain accuracy and clarity in user manuals, installation guides, and service documentation.
  • Drive automation and digital transformation in documentation processes.
  • Implement tools and technologies for efficient content management and distribution.
