About The Position

The Client Portal team shapes how clients engage with EvenUp's platform — building the integration architecture and user experiences that drive customer satisfaction and business outcomes. This team owns our APIs and the integration engine at the heart of the portal.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of engineering management experience with a strong track record of hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers
  • Strong understanding of scalability, performance, and security
  • Experience building complex SaaS solutions, scalable web portals, resilient public APIs, and multi-system integrations
  • Product-minded — able to translate user needs into reliable, scalable technical solutions
  • Strong communicator across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Committed to maintainable code, best practices in testing and reliability, and a fast pace of execution

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with React/TypeScript, Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, and orchestration frameworks
  • Experience in legal tech, AI-driven applications, or other social impact domains
  • Previous experience in a high-growth startup or building client-facing integration platforms

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of software engineers through architectural decisions, career growth, and best practices
  • Own the technical direction for the Client Portal — designing extensible architecture and driving execution across the full SDLC
  • Partner with product and design to deliver performant, intuitive user experiences
  • Work closely with product, legal, and operations to prioritize user needs and deliver high-impact solutions
  • Set and uphold standards around quality, security, documentation, performance, testing, and observability
  • Up-level the team through hands-on support in architecture and complex problem-solving
