About The Position

Aligned Data Centers is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead its Building Management Systems (BMS) team in a data center environment. The role is responsible for delivering, managing, and optimizing BMS platforms across data centers, coordinating with teams involved in construction, commissioning, design, and operations. It combines technical expertise, project management, communication, and team leadership. The position has a 25% travel requirement.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
At least 10 years of experience managing BMS projects in data center, industrial, or related industries.
Demonstrated project management skills and successful delivery of complex projects on time and within budget.
In-depth understanding of BMS design principles, standards, and technologies, including Points Lists, Graphics, Sequences, and trending analysis.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Experience with commissioning processes, quality control, and BMS issue resolution.
Proficiency with relevant software tools and platforms used in BMS design and management.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex technical challenges and develop effective solutions.
Leadership skills to manage and inspire engineers and technical professionals.
Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.

Responsibilities

Provide weekly project status, constraint, and opportunity updates to Platform Delivery teams, including Construction, Procurement, Commissioning, and Design.
Communicate regularly with site Construction Managers, Technical Project Managers, and Operations personnel about constraints, opportunities, and project deliverables.
Work with project teams to establish closeout package requirements and align vendor and partner deliverables with customer requirements.
Assist Construction Managers with proposals for Commissioning and Quality Control partners, ensuring alignment with project goals and completion of the proposals.
Facilitate Lessons Learned meetings to capture challenges, opportunities, and strategies for future projects.
Manage and audit daily status reports documenting completed and outstanding work to help safeguard against potential change orders.
Conduct design reviews to ensure BMS designs are effective, efficient, and compliant with industry standards and project requirements.
Lead development of BMS standards, including Points Lists, Graphics, and Sequences.
Coordinate with BMS partners to communicate standards, promote continuous improvement, and align business planning strategies.
Support commissioning activities by assisting with BMS-related issue resolution.
Perform design and operational analysis, including Thermal Energy Storage tank sizing and trend analysis for Project Delivery Engineering and operational failure analysis.
Provide construction administration support, including managing Requests for Information, reviewing schedules, and conducting site walks to ensure BMS integration aligns with project objectives.
Lead and inspire a team of engineers and technical professionals.
Travel 25% as required.
