About The Position

Stryten Energy manufactures components that supply the automotive and consumer markets. The Engineering & Maintenance Manager reports directly to the Plant Manager and is responsible for leading the Engineering and Maintenance functions to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all production equipment, facilities, and grounds. This role develops and executes strategies that maximize equipment uptime, optimize asset performance, and support the plant's operational and business objectives. The Engineering & Maintenance Manager provides leadership for capital planning, facility improvements, and equipment installations. This position evaluates, recommends, and oversees new production methods to overcome technological obstacles and maximize production while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. This position will also act as the plant TPM lead and drive MRO processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or experience in lieu of degree
  • 5 years’ experience in engineering management in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience with project management, including cost control and budgeting required
  • 2 years’ experience in battery business preferred but not required
  • 5 years’ experience in management.
  • Ability to work in high-pressure, deadline driven environment
  • Outstanding leadership skills and ability to delegate responsibilities effectively
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches presentations on complex topics to top management.
  • Able to use word processing capabilities and spreadsheet applications (MS Office applications Google Suite, MS Project). Able to setup software capable of meeting the needs of the parts inventory and preventive maintenance system. Ability to modify programmable logic controllers as required. Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the Maintenance and Project Engineering departments, ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of plant operations.
  • Direct the planning, design, construction, and installation of mechanical and electrical facilities or systems.
  • Establish and maintain standards and procedures for maintaining buildings, grounds and equipment in accordance with sound engineering principles, safety regulations, quality requirements and production needs.
  • Partner with management and HQ teams to identify, evaluate, and implement engineering improvements and equipment modifications that enhance safety, quality, productivity and cost effectiveness.
  • Evaluate and coordinate and manage external contractors used for building, electrical, parts, or other maintenance related concerns.
  • Ensure a system is established capable of meeting customer quality concerns with regard to parts inventory and preventative maintenance systems.
  • Prepare and submit yearly capital budget request.
  • Manage all capital projects from concept through completion, ensuring projects are executed on schedule, within approved budgets, and aligned with operational objectives.
  • Direct and oversee all engineering, maintenance and facility activities of the Kansas City, MO facility, including plant expansion, equipment installation, facility improvements and major maintenance initiatives.
  • This includes managing plant capital budgets, project management and directing all outside contractors onsite.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and employee development throughout the engineering and maintenance functions.
  • Additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and company goals.
