About The Position

As Engineering Maintenance Manager, you will lead the maintenance strategy and daily engineering operations for critical manufacturing assets supporting Takeda's pharmaceutical production. You will ensure equipment reliability, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance while driving continuous improvement initiatives that maximize plant performance, safety, and manufacturing productivity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Significant experience leading maintenance and engineering activities within a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences.
  • Strong expertise in preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance methodologies.
  • Experience managing maintenance planning systems (CMMS) and equipment lifecycle management.
  • Solid understanding of cGMP regulations, pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, and engineering compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams, external contractors, and maintenance projects.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to develop people, influence across functions, and drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of maintenance supervisors and technicians, setting clear objectives and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Oversee maintenance activities for production and process equipment across manufacturing facilities, ensuring maximum equipment availability and reliability.
  • Develop and execute preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) programs to improve asset performance.
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance shutdowns, commissioning activities, and vendor support while minimizing production disruption.
  • Partner closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, and Engineering teams to support production schedules and process improvements.
  • Review and evaluate new equipment designs, installation projects, and engineering modifications to optimize maintainability and lifecycle performance.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in compliance with cGMP requirements, safety standards, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, TPM, Six Sigma, OEE, and other reliability methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
