About The Position

Neo is rebuilding financial services infrastructure from scratch, having shipped a full-stack banking platform (credit cards, savings accounts, mortgages, personal loans, cash back rewards) at an unprecedented pace. The engineering team is the driving force behind this success. We are building a pipeline of exceptional engineering leaders at every level, specifically Managers and Directors who lead through technical credibility. This role is for individuals who want to operate at the edge of their capabilities and build something significant, rather than remain in a comfortable position.

  • Hold a high performance bar and act on it.
  • Own the process, not just the output.
  • Understand and tune agile execution (small tickets, fast cycle times, obsessive test coverage, effective standups and retros).
  • If managing managers: develop them, hold them accountable, and be able to step into their role when needed.
  • Roll up team performance to the executive level with real metrics.
  • Co-author high-level solution plans with product leadership.
  • Do not wait for top-down direction.
  • Do not thrive in slow bureaucratic environments.
  • Build and scale systems that handle meaningful transaction volume or data throughput.
  • Worked in financial services, payments, or another regulated industry where correctness is critical.
  • Managed managers or be ready to.
  • Run real performance management.
  • Resourceful, growth-oriented, and driven to win.
  • Hold oneself to high standards.
  • Constantly challenge oneself and others to raise the bar and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Trust, respect, and support colleagues, engaging in honest conversations and providing constructive input.
  • Empower others to move fast and think big.
  • Be surrounded by people who push you to be your best.
  • Collaborate primarily in person.
  • Thrive on challenge and prefer to blaze a trail through uncertainty.
  • Think like an owner and make decisions that move the business forward.
  • Undergo a security screening, including a criminal records check and a credit check.
