Type One Energy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Lead with experience in the deployment and operation of a small to medium scale experimental research capabilities to assist in the deployment of a new High Heat Flux Test Facility. This facility, known as FORGED-PFC (Facility for Ongoing Research in Gas-cooled Energy Dissipation in Plasma Facing Components) is a collaborative endeavor between Type One Energy, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and the University of Tennessee. As an engineering lead, you will play a vital role in expediting the deployment of new experimental capabilities to enable Type One Energy to perform critical component development and testing prior to the deployment of the Infinity Two Fusion Pilot Plant. This will be accomplished by first coordinating the deployment of FORGED-PFC with an emphasis on engineer design and technical leadership of the activity. Upon completion, you will support commissioning as well as be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the testing facility. This includes managing engineering staff, ensuring the facility is well maintained, and coordinating and executing testing campaigns in collaboration with internal and external partners. Ideally the candidate will have experience with test facilities that utilize high pressure and temperature gas loops and/or high heat flux component testing.
