Requirements

  • BS - Computer Science, Engineering or related field - required.
  • 8+ years of hands-on, progressive experience - required.
  • 2+ years of experience managing and developing engineering teams - required.
  • Experience with one or more major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK, or similar).
  • Proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript (Node.js).
  • Proficiency in React or similar frameworks.
  • Experience with microservice architectures, API design, and cloud security.
  • CI/CD practices and DevOps principles.

  • MS - preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages a team of up to 10 engineers, including ICs at higher levels.
  • Drives the technical vision for a specialized domain within the broader R&D technology landscape.
  • Focuses on delivering high-quality solutions within a defined technical scope, while contributing to the overall engineering strategy.
  • Organizes teamwork, sets goals, and holds the team accountable.
  • Monitors team pace and escalate when necessary.
  • Empowers team members to own their work while taking on unowned or undesirable that enables the team to move faster.
  • Aligns team priorities with broader departmental objectives and strategic initiatives.
  • Accountable for the technical output of the team.
  • Upholds a high technical bar while making pragmatic trade-offs.
  • Develops deep technical expertise in domains critical to R&D innovation.
  • Establishes best practices and technical standards within their scope.
  • Coaches, provides feedback, and invests in the growth of team members through 1:1s and career planning.
  • Responsible for recruiting, performance management, promotions, and employee development in partnership with leadership.
  • Leads the vision, strategy, and values within the team and across the Digital R&D Accelerator.
  • Manages vendors to ensure delivery of initiatives aligned with requirements and design.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders including product managers, scientists, and customers to define and execute the team’s roadmap.
  • Partners with leadership on technical direction to enable effective resource allocation and strategic planning.
