Engineering Laundry Technician - Class 1

About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining and improving all equipment used in the laundry. The technician will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair malfunctioning equipment, and collaborate with the manager on necessary work. The position may also involve assisting other maintenance staff and working in other areas of the resort as needed. The technician will also complete other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Previous maintenance experience required.
• Minimum of two years hotel and/or commercial building maintenance required.
• One year of commercial kitchen and laundry equipment experience is required.
• Previous experience with response to emergency situations is required.
• Good communication, attention to detail, time management, computer and guest satisfaction skills are required.
• The ability to stand/walk for long periods of time.
• The ability to crawl for short periods of time.
• The ability to bend, reach over-head, squat, kneel for extended periods of time.
• The ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• The ability to utilize step stools and ladders.
• Knowledge in electrical systems, low voltage controls, plumbing and gas.
• Experience in reading schematics.

Nice To Haves

• Hotel experience and training preferred.
• Commercial refrigeration experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a maintenance and project checklist/schedule for preventive maintenance and ongoing improvements on all equipment used in the laundry.
• Diagnose malfunctioning equipment and repair as quickly and efficiently as possible.
• Communicate with manager to coordinate, acknowledge, document and complete the work necessary.
• Assist other general maintenance associates with work as needed.
• May be required to work in other areas of the resort when necessary.
• Completes other duties as assigned.
