Reporting to the Technical Director, the Engineering Lab Tech will support engineering projects by adapting and applying engineering techniques, conducting tests and inspections, and preparing reports and calculations. This position will be responsible for assisting with product testing, data reporting/analysis and various Engineering related product improvement projects to support the organization on continued improvement and success of existing systems products and newly commercialized products. The candidate will work in a dynamic and collaborative environment and will be held directly accountable to deliver accurate and time-sensitive results. The position requires a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual that brings impact.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent.
  • Two or more years of prior industry experience as an Engineering Technician or similar role
  • Ability to work hands on with Engineering projects in an R&D environment.
  • Problem solving mentality with ability to think creatively to troubleshoot machine issues, design constraints, and other roadblocks.
  • Willingness and proven ability to work in a hands-on role with electromechanical industrial equipment.
  • Mathematical computing and analysis tools knowledge.
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to partner with internal customers.
  • Must be detail orientated, have strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize.
  • A self-starter with excellent communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with tools, fixtures and gauges is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute and document product testing.
  • Develop, design and build new standardized test plans and fixtures as well as improve upon existing to increase performance in some way (efficiency, cost, etc.).
  • Accurately carry out data collection and documentation, as per test plan, with performance of various consumable products.
  • Assist in interpreting and analyzing data. Compile information in MS Office by creating tables, graphs, interpret information, etc.
  • Support various engineering best practices process implementation.
  • Execute other responsibilities as assigned.
