About The Position

This position supports Residential engineering design and development by assisting the engineering team and performing product development evaluations. The technician helps assemble prototypes and application fixtures, conducts testing under engineering direction, supports troubleshooting and product failure replication, and helps maintain the engineering lab. The role also prepares documentation and electronic component kits for prototype builds.

Requirements

Capable of soldering and reworking electronic assemblies, including all types of SMT components.
Able to operate lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, power supplies, frequency generators, and network analyzers.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Familiar with schematic capture and PCB layout.
Must be able to read and interpret schematics and specifications.
Good organizational skills.
Good communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of management.
Capable of creating technical and procedural documentation.
A minimum of an associate degree in electronics or electrical engineering technology.
Experience with electronics lab equipment.
Experience troubleshooting electronics assemblies.
A minimum of three years of experience in a product development environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with assembling prototypes and application fixtures.
Perform development testing as directed and supervised by engineering staff.
Perform Engineering Specification testing in accordance with documented internal procedures.
Assist engineers with troubleshooting, diagnosis, and replication of product failures.
Participate in maintaining the engineering lab, including equipment, materials, and component inventory.
Prepare documentation and kits of electronic components for prototype build activity.
