About The Position

Marathon Electric is seeking motivated and driven engineering students to join our Summer Engineering Internship Program. This hands-on internship provides real-world experience in a manufacturing environment, allowing you to apply your academic knowledge to meaningful projects that impact our business. Location: Onsite in Wausau, WI Pay Rate: $20.00 - $25.00/Hour We are currently hiring: Quality Engineering Intern, Mechanical Engineering Intern, Manufacturing Engineering Intern, Product Management Intern. Throughout the summer, interns will work closely with experienced professionals and cross-functional teams, gaining exposure to our products, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives. At the conclusion of the program, each intern will present a capstone project showcasing their contributions and learnings.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field)
  • Rising sophomore, junior, or senior preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel preferred)
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Marathon Electric does not offer visa sponsorship for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering or product-related projects within manufacturing, operations, or product development
  • Assist with process improvements, data analysis, and problem-solving initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and supply chain
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities (lean manufacturing, efficiency gains, etc.)
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data to support decision-making
  • Present findings and recommendations as part of a final capstone project
