Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university and working on a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Operations, Chemical, Materials, Automation, or a related engineering field.
  • Must have completed at least 3 or more semesters of college coursework.
  • If you are a co-op, you must be registered with your university's official co-op program or career services office.
  • Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 ; Full-time student status highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Students have the opportunity to complete a series of semesters, either rotating between school/work or sequentially, working onsite in Shaw’s manufacturing operations facilities in an engineering capacity.
  • We will help you match with a facility that best utilizes your skills and interests to develop yourself and the onsite team.
  • Here, we empower and encourage our trainees to work with our engineering staff and apply both knowledge and problem-solving skills to ongoing facility projects; these often include tackling real-world issues and gives trainees valuable technical experience for a successful career start.
  • Project work typically begins more basic during the student’s first semester and will progressively get more advanced and impactful as the student gains experience.
  • Upon completing multiple semesters as an intern or co-op, you will have grown your own knowledge of working in a full-time position as an engineer in manufacturing and will be developmentally ready to interview for full-time positions with us upon graduation.
