Engineering Internship - Building Automation Systems

About The Position

Olsson provides multidisciplinary design services for a variety of data center campuses throughout the nation. As a summer 2027 student intern, you will perform meaningful, hands-on, real-world work that will transform your classroom experience and help you envision your future career. You will have the opportunity to work on some of the largest and most complex engineering-driven projects being built today. You will assist the team with designing building automation systems and electrical power monitoring systems for data centers. Projects range from high-level conceptual designs, detailed site designs and retrofits, factory witness testing of equipment, and construction administration and verification. You will also assist with tasks including the Building Management System (BMS) design, specifications, and drawings. Depending on the projects, you may also have the opportunity to travel to job sites.

Requirements

Strong communication skills
Ability to contribute and work well on a team
Pursuing a degree in electrical, mechanical or architectural engineering
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Problem-solving and decision-making skills
Strong attention to detail

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in Revit is desired, but not required

Responsibilities

Assist the team with designing building automation systems and electrical power monitoring systems for data centers.
