Position Objective: The intern position performs a variety of field and office duties in support of the Engineering Department operations and goals. This position is designed to afford undergraduate, technical program or construction management students enrolled in civil engineering related programs an opportunity to receive a first-hand view of the dynamics of local government. The internship program provides exposure to the operation of the department and supplements academic training with the practical problems of Civil Engineering. While primarily an in-service training program, the intern contributes work of academic quality while developing professional standards, goals and communications. The work may involve the use of Autodesk and ESRI products , construction observations, updating City maps, survey and set out and responding to customer inquiries.
