About The Position

Contech Engineered Solutions is seeking an Engineering Intern to join its team in Bloomington, Minnesota. The intern will gain hands-on experience working with the design team, contribute in a consultative role, and support the field marketing team in establishing and building relationships with civil engineering clients while contributing to commercial objectives. The role offers practical experience applying engineering knowledge to support engineers, contractors, and developers on civil engineering projects.

The intern will collaborate with department design engineers to present project-specific solutions, help prepare designs and plans under senior engineers’ supervision, and perform calculations and analyses to support design decisions. The role also involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, supporting submittals, production, and product delivery, and potentially visiting sites to assess project progress and quality. The intern is expected to follow engineering standards and procedures.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate engineering program; Civil Engineering is preferred.
• Ability to prepare and review standard engineering documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, database management software, and basic CAD.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with department design engineers to present project-specific solutions to clients.
• Provide designs and advice to help secure and integrate company products into site plans.
• Assist in creating engineering designs and plans under the supervision of senior engineers.
• Perform engineering calculations and analyses to support design decisions.
• Work with cross-functional teams to support effective communication and timely project completion.
• Support submittals, production, and product delivery.
• May conduct site visits to assess project progress and quality.
• Maintain engineering standards and procedures.
• Support the field marketing team in establishing and building relationships with civil engineering clients.
