About The Position

The Eaton Aerospace facility in Middlesex, NC is looking for an Engineering Intern to join its team from May 2026 to August 2026. The person in this role needs to have a passion for manufacturing and process improvement. Eaton's internships hold true significance to the business, and participants gain enriching and diverse experiences while working beside leaders to power their careers. This 10 to 12 week paid internship involves projects that have tangible significance for the business, developing students through practical manufacturing and operations experiences.

Requirements

Must be enrolled in an engineering program at NC State University.
Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
This position requires the use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.

Completion of sophomore year by the start of internship.
Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or community.

Responsibilities

Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Continuous Improvement, and Operators to resolve manufacturing problems and remove waste/non-value added work.
Actively participate in a Rapid Improvement Event.
Implement Poka-Yoke(s) (Error Proofing Devices).
Update BOMs (bills of material) and routers in the sites ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system.
Record time studies for variety of manufacturing and Quality assurance processes.
Assist with validation of new machines/equipment.
