The Engineering Group Manager – General Assembly Execution is responsible for leading a team of engineers focused on the successful execution of manufacturing engineering projects. This includes overseeing all aspects of project implementation, from initial design and development to final production launch at the assembly site. The Group Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, quality, and supply chain to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position takes on a high level of independent decision making and communication as the lead General Assembly manufacturing engineering person onsite during project installation and startup.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field)
  • 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role
  • 3+ years of experience in a supervisory or management role
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Six Sigma)
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software and manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Monitor project progress, identify and resolve roadblocks, and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure adherence to engineering standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution and successful product launches.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain and meet project budgets/forecasts
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in manufacturing engineering.
  • Other duties as assigned.
