About The Position

The RES Global Graduate Programme is a two-year development programme designed to provide graduates with meaningful work experience, professional development and exposure to different areas of the renewable energy industry. Over the course of the programme, graduates will complete three rotations of approximately eight months each across different teams, functions or business areas. Each rotation is designed to build technical capability, commercial awareness and leadership potential while helping graduates develop a broad understanding of RES and the renewable energy industry. Graduates will work on real projects, collaborate with experienced colleagues and be encouraged to take ownership of their development while making meaningful contributions to the business. Through a combination of structured learning, practical experience and professional development opportunities, graduates will build the skills and experience needed for a successful long-term career at RES.

Requirements

  • Expected to graduate from, or have graduated within the past two years from, a recognized post-secondary institution with a Bachelor's degree in one of the following disciplines: Renewable Energy, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Electronics and Automation Engineering, Engineering + Business Administration. Other related disciplines may be considered based on business need.
  • Demonstrated academic achievement and a genuine interest in pursuing a career within the renewable energy industry.
  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally within North America for project exposure and site visits.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships across diverse teams and functions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary and geographically dispersed teams.
  • A learning mindset, characterized by curiosity, initiative, adaptability, and a willingness to seek feedback and continuously develop.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality work.
  • Effective organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook); familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools is considered an asset.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and different rotational assignments while maintaining a positive and professional approach.
  • Confidence working in a dynamic, office-based environment, while effectively supporting both in-person and virtual collaboration.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship, university project or placement experience in renewable energy, engineering, operations, maintenance, asset management, or related technical fields.
  • Participation in team projects, student associations, competitions, or extracurricular activities that demonstrate leadership, initiative and collaborative working.
  • An interest in operations management, commercial activities, engineering support functions, and the renewable energy sector.
  • Basic knowledge of project management, business fundamentals, data analysis, process improvement, or commercial concepts.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a broad understanding of how RES Services manages the operation and maintenance of renewable energy assets across North America. Gain exposure to operational planning, resource management, customer delivery, performance monitoring, and business processes that support day-to-day operations.
  • Work closely with Operations teams to understand how projects and maintenance activities are planned and coordinated, how operational performance is measured, and how different functions collaborate to deliver services safely and efficiently.
  • Develop an understanding of the challenges, priorities, and decision-making processes involved in managing a large operational portfolio within the renewable energy sector.
  • Gain exposure to the Commercial function, supporting activities related to customer relationships, contract management, business development, market analysis, and commercial strategy.
  • Support commercial initiatives and learn how business opportunities are assessed, developed, and translated into long-term value for customers and RES.
  • Develop an understanding of how commercial decisions influence business growth, customer satisfaction, and overall business performance.
  • Develop a strong understanding of renewable asset performance, reliability, and failure modes by analyzing operational data and supporting root cause investigations.
  • Lead an O&M Engineering improvement project focusing on reliability, availability, or cost.
  • Develop a broader understanding of how these functions collaborate with Operations and Commercial teams to drive efficiency, safety, innovation, and continuous improvement across the business.
