As an Engineering and Facilities Maintenance Manager, you play a key role in maintaining the infrastructure that powers these operations. You’ll manage critical assets, implement innovative solutions to reduce downtime, and enhance efficiency. Your leadership ensures teams deliver the products millions of guests need when they need them. The Engineering & Facilities Maintenance Manager leads the planning, operation, and upkeep of all building systems, equipment, and infrastructure to deliver a safe, reliable, and highly efficient supply chain environment. You will own the health and performance of the facility—driving uptime, throughput, cost efficiency, and risk reduction—while championing a safety-first, reliability-centered maintenance culture. This role spans strategic planning and day-to-day execution, blending leadership, engineering rigor, and continuous improvement to ensure our teams, assets, and operations perform at their best.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams across designated shifts—including weekends, overnights, and holidays, while ensuring operational continuity, rapid decision-making, and consistent leadership presence in fast-paced environments.
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, analytical, and stakeholder management skills, backed by a safety-first mindset and a proven track record of driving operational excellence.
  • Skilled in contractor/vendor management, capital project oversight, and ensuring quality, cost, and performance outcomes.
  • Proficient in CMMS/EAM systems and PC applications, with strong aptitude for leveraging data and technology to improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Highly self-motivated, customer-focused, and results-driven, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Physically able to access all areas of the distribution center, including mezzanines and freezer environments (as low as –15°F).

Nice To Haves

  • 4-year degree in a relevant technical or engineering field, or equivalent experience.
  • Expertise in ammonia refrigeration systems with deep knowledge of PSM/RMP and IIAR standards; RETA certification (CIRO or CARO) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the planning, operation, and upkeep of all building systems, equipment, and infrastructure to deliver a safe, reliable, and highly efficient supply chain environment.
  • Owns the health and performance of the facility—driving uptime, throughput, cost efficiency, and risk reduction—while championing a safety-first, reliability-centered maintenance culture.
  • Ensures operational excellence through strategic planning, disciplined processes, and hands-on problem-solving.
  • Leads preventive and predictive maintenance, oversees capital projects, manages vendors, and coordinates emergency repairs for critical assets.
  • Leverages accurate metrics, data analysis, and root-cause investigations to drive continuous improvement, reduce downtime, and enhance equipment effectiveness.
  • Requires strong cross-functional collaboration, timely performance reporting, and precise escalation handling to maintain seamless execution across the Engineering & Facilities network.
  • Guides Maintenance Technicians, Facility Attendants, and CMMS Technicians with clear expectations, accountability, and urgency.
  • Recruits, onboards, and develops talent through coaching, feedback, and a mix of formal and on-the-job training, building technical and leadership capabilities.
  • Fosters trust and engagement across all levels to create a culture of shared success.
  • Enforces safety leadership, including LOTO, Arc Flash, and PPE standards, drives hazard prevention, and leads post-incident investigations.
  • Ensures sanitation and ammonia refrigeration compliance to protect product integrity and meet regulatory standards.
  • Manages life-cycle planning, contractor quality, and budget performance for both OpEx and CapEx.
  • Leverages Maintenance data and predictive technologies to drive reliability improvements and reduce total cost of ownership.
  • Balances multiple priorities, Projects, adapts quickly to change, and leads with clarity and confidence.
  • Aligns teams, communicates effectively, and delivers results to ensure millions of guests receive the products they need—on time, every time.
