About The Position

The McKinney, TX, Manufacturing Engineering department supporting the Surveillance Mission Area division of Raytheon is seeking an Engineering Equipment Technician. The test equipment supports different Electro-optical Infrared (EOIR) system variants produced in the McKinney, TX Consolidated Manufacturing Center. You must be self-motivated and will work with a cross-functional team including manufacturing engineering, factory management, and operations assembly and test.

Requirements

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience.
  • Experience reading equipment drawings, datasheets, and system specifications.
  • Experience maintaining/repairing test equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting test equipment issues.
  • Experience working in a factory environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in multi-discipline collaboration to mitigate systemic issues.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of optical performance in EO/IR system.
  • Demonstrated abilities to execute impactful improvements within rapid time window.
  • Familiarity with fiber optics.
  • Experience with testing instrumentation, such as with oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, targets and power supplies.
  • Basic electrical engineering knowledge such as understanding of Op-Amps, Multiplexers, ADC/DAC, etc.
  • Basic mechanical engineering knowledge such as mechanical mechanisms (i.e. gears, actuators, etc.).
  • Proficiency in generation of procedures/instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily factory needs to maintain equipment uptime such as preventative maintenance and troubleshooting and resolving test equipment failures.
  • Maintain and improve factory metrics to reduce costs and improve factory capabilities.
  • Participate in investigations of failure trends for root cause and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Carry out appointed tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Engage with supplier(s) for test equipment purchases.
