The Electronics Technician III tests and troubleshoots electronic and control systems for unmanned air vehicles. This role is responsible for manufacturing, testing, inspection, and repair of electrical systems and components. The technician will write assembly and test procedures, maintain a detailed notebook of all activities, and operate and maintain tools in a safe and serviceable condition. They will work from written procedures, drawings, and direct communication from engineering staff to fabricate electronic assemblies for small UAVs, including avionics and payloads. Responsibilities also include debugging electronic subsystems, soldering electrical and avionic components, assembling and installing wire harnesses, and repairing UAV/RC subsystems. The role involves helping build prototypes for initial designs and low volume builds, and may require field or flight testing, including some travel. The position requires considerable judgment and initiative, with the ability to determine methods and procedures on new assignments, and may involve informal team leadership. Other duties as assigned.
