Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited Program
  • Proficiency in required design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Revit.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Good communication and technical writing skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment.
  • Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to maintain required certification.

Responsibilities

  • Develop designs and prepare drawings for site/civil projects, including grading, drainage, utility coordination, roadway improvements, and infrastructure upgrades in compliance with NYC DOT, DEP, and other relevant agency standards.
  • Perform engineering calculations and interpret drawings and specifications in accordance with NYC Building Code, NYCDOT requirements, and applicable local regulations.
  • Assist with proposal preparation including scope, schedule, and fee development, contract management, and billing for NYC-based site/civil projects.
  • Coordinate across multiple engineering disciplines and perform drafting/CADD work, including preparation of NYC agency permit submissions (e.g., DOB, DOT, DEP).
  • Conduct site visits throughout the five boroughs to gather field data, including measurements, sketches, notes, and photographs in often complex urban environments.
  • Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates tailored to NYC site conditions for review and approval.
  • Review and approve shop drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements and NYC agency standards.
  • Read and interpret technical documents, including NYC agency guidelines, utility records, and geotechnical reports necessary for project performance.
  • Consult and coordinate with NYC agencies, utility companies, and sub-consultants to ensure successful project delivery in the city's regulatory environment.
  • Attend bi-weekly (or more frequent, as necessary) project team meetings to discuss progress, agency feedback, and task assignments.
  • Ensure all projects fulfill ISO compliance requirements and operate within specified budget parameters.
  • Complete all tasks on time and within budget while fully meeting project scope.
  • Achieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization targets.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Complete other duties as required or assigned.
