About The Position

The Engineering Designer assists with designing and creating product models, assemblies, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and drawings in SolidWorks for commercial and production facility needs, under the direction of engineers and the Director of Engineering. The role maintains product drawings by processing necessary changes and creating drawings according to engineering standards. It also performs design calculations and makes recommendations for specific product design elements in accordance with applicable manufacturing codes and standards.

Requirements

• Proficiency in 2D drawing and 3D modeling using SolidWorks.
• Prior work experience with SolidWorks.
• Communication skills to organize problem solving and reflect it in engineering designs.
• Mechanical design knowledge.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong math skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work well with a team.

Nice To Haves

• SolidWorks certification.
• Three to five years of related experience.
• Knowledge of GD&T and weld callouts.

Responsibilities

• Create new product drawings and models and complete necessary calculations.
• Create or update product drawings and calculations for product modifications.
• Generate and track Engineering Change Requests and New Product Requests, researching the required changes.
• Apply basic engineering principles to the design of new or modified products.
• Review regulatory artwork for production and manufacturing.
• Apply standards to completed design work.
• Maintain product drawings by processing necessary changes and creating drawings to engineering standards.
• Make recommendations for specific product design elements in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
