Collaborate with peers and cross-functional teams to gather and set requirements, align on goals, manage dependencies, shape product direction and resolve difficult prioritization, organizational and technical issues. Demonstrate influence and results well beyond their own immediate work utilizing a deep understanding of their audience and their goals to tailor their communication style to resonate with their peers, driving discussions to reach expedient outcomes aligned with business and technical objectives. Consistently produce clarity in ambiguous situations. Communicate and develop a shared vision and technical strategy for their area of ownership, shaping the technical direction and roadmap for software engineering squads, ensuring timely delivery against business objectives and adherence to business level strategic goals while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. Oversee the architecture, design and delivery of large-scale, reliable, maintainable, high quality tested software systems aligned with company guidelines and best practices, maintaining comprehensive documentation for software design, implementation, and maintenance, ensuring the team’s compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies. Build and lead high-performing engineering teams, providing mentorship, expert guidance, performance management and professional development opportunities to team members. Successfully manage and own changes affecting their team regardless of decision source. Generate and champion initiatives (investments, processes, tooling, culture) which improve the team, system and/or engineering productivity as a whole. Model and ensure a healthy culture within the team and proactively enable psychological safety, timely feedback and conflict resolution, openness, and collaboration. Build What’s Vital.
