About The Position

Responsible for leading the controls design team of hardware and software engineers in the design and development of microcontroller-based control systems used in water leak detection. The focus of this role is primarily hardware/software design for high volume, low-cost electronic assemblies, including Web-based software such as dashboards, smartphone apps, etc.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other Technology.
• 5+ years’ direct leadership of design engineers in new product development.
• Proven project management experience on several development projects.
• Creation of product specifications, Statement of Work, from customer requirements.
• Experience with project documentation including BOMs, test plans, instructions, and procedures.
• Strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Costing, project planning and the supervision of the product from conception to production.
• Experience in high volume, low-cost design preferred.
• Design for Manufacturability
• Research and selection of components, circuitry, and topologies.
• Participate in design reviews.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with communications such as Bluetooth, Thread, Ethernet and Wi-Fi would be a plus
• Experience in writing embedded code for electronics controls utilizing C/C++ would be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Estimating development costs, timing and control system costs based on product requirements, existing platform controls and control team capabilities / resource availability.
• Recruiting, developing, managing, coaching the controls team and external contractors based on strategic objectives and customer needs.
• Creating and managing an annual budget to improve team performance, capabilities and resources to keep up with customer demand.
• Understanding key products, application challenges, performance requirements, etc. for FloLogic with the goal of recommending potential control system solutions to improve product performance, customer value, quality, reliability, etc.
• Manage resources to support internal and external customer needs, competitive analysis, cost reductions, quality improvements, parts obsolescence, etc.
