This Engineering Co-Op position, running from May 2027 to December 2027, offers a full-time schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, totaling 40 hours per week. The role is designed to help you determine if a career as an Operations Engineer is the right fit for you. You will be assigned real company projects focused on manufacturing operations, including the incorporation of new machines and the maximization of process efficiencies, with the goal of impacting the company's bottom line. The program includes in-depth training on Rust-Oleum's Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing Initiatives, such as the Toyota Production System, 5S, 8 Wastes, Quick Changeover (SMED), and Root Cause Problem Solving. Specific projects will involve our processing, milling, and paint making operations, focusing on equipment and process changes to enhance efficiency, throughput, and safety. Additional projects may encompass Lean & Six Sigma activities or efficiency and safety improvements for the packaging production area. Housing will be provided at UW Parkside - Pike River Suites.
