About The Position

Tag Systems USA is seeking an Engineering Co-Op Student to join their team in Eatontown, NJ. This full-time, minimum 5-month co-op opportunity is designed for engineering students to gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment. The co-op will involve working with engineering, production, quality, and operations teams on projects related to materials, testing, manufacturing, product development, and process improvement. This role is ideal for students pursuing Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related fields who want to apply their academic knowledge to practical engineering challenges.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related degree program
  • Available to complete a minimum 5-month co-op
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to read and follow test plans and technical instructions
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
  • Proficient with Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Professional and effective communication skills
  • Strong interest in engineering, materials, manufacturing, and new technologies
  • Curious, hardworking, and eager to learn
  • Ability to communicate technical information and project results effectively
  • Must be able to work on-site in Eatontown, NJ each working day
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with laboratory testing, materials, manufacturing, engineering projects, CAD, data analysis, or quality control is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist teams with planning, development, testing, and implementation of projects
  • Perform hands-on testing and analysis of materials and equipment
  • Assist with testing materials for durability, performance, and compatibility
  • Help evaluate new equipment and technologies for use with existing materials and processes
  • Read and follow test plans and accurately document test results
  • Create, edit, and analyze technical specifications and product documentation
  • Assist with troubleshooting and identifying issues with materials, equipment, and processes
  • Use data and basic statistical analysis to evaluate test results and identify trends
  • Assist with process improvement and engineering projects
  • Work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality Control, and Operations teams
  • Communicate project findings and results to team members and management
  • Learn and apply new testing methods, technologies, and engineering techniques
  • Take on additional engineering projects and responsibilities as assigned
