About The Position

The Engineering Change Administrator is responsible for coordinating technical documentation releases, in addition to maintaining revision control of all product-related data. This role will coordinate with cross-functional departments including Engineering, Marketing, Quality, Finance, Supply Chain, Customer Experience and Operations in order to drive the engineering change process to completion in a timely, accurate, and cost effective manner.

Requirements

  • Associate degree (Quality Engineering or a science-related field) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and understand/interpret technical drawings, blueprints and part diagrams
  • Strong organizational and written communication skills, attention to detail
  • Ability to use data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Power Query )

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of change control, configuration management, and/or document control experience.
  • Experience with PDM (Product Data Management) or PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) as well as ERP systems
  • Basic SolidWorks navigation and file handling a plus

Responsibilities

  • Audit data completeness and accuracy for New Product Introductions (NPI) and line extensions in the following areas: Part setup, Bill of Materials (BOM), and Other engineering documentation (Product matrix, CAD release ECOs, documentation ECOs). Ensure consistency and clarity of data and formatting.
  • Manage and maintain the integrity of internal Production, QC and Manufacturing Engineering documentation in Product Data Management (PDM) system. Partner with cross-functional teams to move process instructions, CNC data, and other production-related documentation efficiently into the controlled environment. Ensure changes and new releases are communicated and acknowledged in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Handle all aspects of drawing releases including an iterative pre-release process that will require communication and coordination between internal stakeholders and outside resources. Systematically release all new and updated CAD and communicate the release both internally and externally. Confirm and document the acknowledgement of change.
  • Track Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) throughout the process from approval to closure. Work with various teams to closely monitor and document implementation readiness in terms of systems, stock on hand, process documentation, and training. Update work orders on an as-needed basis. Finalize and close ECOs by ensuring all inventory is dispositioned, parts are obsoleted, and all systems updated.
  • Lead the part setup process, ensuring the consistency of commodity code and naming conventions. Systematically enter data into the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system as well as initiate workflow for full part setup. Monitor and follow up with concerned parties to ensure timely setup to support new product introduction, change and special parts/orders.
