About The Position

RIC is seeking a CAD Technician to assist engineers with designing and drafting activities. This includes preparing, updating, and assembling plan sets, and performing other civil engineering related tasks for a range of project types. An ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation. Candidates should have a strong sense of responsibility and organization. Requirements

• Work effectively and professionally with internal team members and external client personnel.
• Experience with preparing civil engineering drawings.
• Intermediate to Advanced experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley PowerGeopak.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software.
• Organized and punctual.
• Ability to communicate effectively with multiple teams.
• Ability to prioritize project deadlines.
• Ability to multitask, thrive in a fast-paced work environment, and prioritize project deadlines.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and ability to work with limited supervision.
• Experience in engineering environment or engineering and/or technical coursework.
• Basic knowledge of local civil engineering design criteria.
• Ability to remain in a stationary position approximately 90% of the day.

Nice To Haves

• An associate degree or higher in a civil drafting related curriculum preferred.
• In lieu of an associate degree a minimum of 3 year’s CAD experience.

Responsibilities

• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley PowerGeopak in plan production.
• Communicate with the project leaders through all phases of project completion and meet deadlines.
• Prepare dimensional drawings and installation drawings for plan sets and application submittal documents.
• Develop, design, and modify engineering drawings for infrastructure, roadway, and site development projects.
• Regularly communicate and collaborate with the project managers before, during, and after completion of work.
• Generate quantities and estimates from plan sets.
