About The Position

The Engineering Business Operations Quality and Lean Leader is responsible for aligning Gas Power Engineering with the Steam Power Services Business Line value streams, ensuring Engineering execution, operational priorities, and improvement initiatives are fully aligned to deliver performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC). This leader partners closely with Business Line leadership, Engineering functional teams, and embedded Lean and Quality organizations to align priorities, remove barriers, and accelerate execution across the value stream. The role ensures Engineering activities are effectively integrated within the broader Win, Design, Buy, Build, and Execute workstream. The role also supports Steam Power upgrade value stream execution by strengthening operational integration, prioritization, and problem solving across Engineering activities supporting upgrade delivery. The leader also drives deployment of GE Vernova’s Lean Operating Method, including MOR alignment, Hoshin Kanri, Daily Management, Lean roadmaps, and Kaizen, strengthening operational rigor, performance transparency, and structured problem solving across Engineering organizations supporting the value stream. Additionally, the role supports deployment of the Zero Defect Framework within Engineering, with a particular focus on Design rigor, proactive risk management, and prevention of systemic quality escapes. This position provides a unique opportunity for a high performing leader to operate at the intersection of Engineering, Business Line leadership, and enterprise initiatives. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline or relevant experience.
  • Significant leadership experience in engineering, operations, manufacturing, or business operations within a complex industrial or technology environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) through structured operating systems and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary conduit leader between Business Line value stream leadership and Gas Power Engineering, ensuring alignment of priorities and execution across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
  • Partner with Traditional Operations on MOR alignment with Business line, and annual KPI deployment.
  • Support Engineering team deployment and execution of MOR of SQDC KPIs and metrics.
  • Drive cross functional prioritized improvement actions based on PSR analysis
  • Represent Engineering within Business Line operating cadences including Monthly Operating Reviews (MOR), staff meetings, and operational reviews, ensuring Engineering performance, risks, and improvement priorities are visible and addressed.
  • Participate in Gas Power Engineering MORs and ensure value stream priorities, performance gaps, and improvement opportunities are effectively aligned across organizations.
  • Drive accountability for improvement outcomes across Engineering organizations supporting the value stream, ensuring measurable progress in operational performance and key SQDC metrics.
  • Coordinate cross functional problem solving to address systemic performance gaps, ensuring effective containment, root cause elimination, and prevention.
  • Drive timely resolution of Engineering owned NCRs through coordination of Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and cross functional closure activities to improve responsiveness, execution rigor, and prevention of recurrence.
  • Advance deployment of GE Vernova’s Lean Operating Method across Engineering teams supporting the value stream, including MOR, Hoshin Kanri, Daily Management, Lean roadmaps, and Kaizen, ensuring teams operate with clear performance visibility, predictable execution, and structured problem solving at the point of impact.
  • Integrate improvement roadmaps across Engineering organizations supporting the value stream, ensuring Lean, Quality, reliability, and operational initiatives are aligned and executed in a coordinated manner.
  • Support deployment and operationalization of the Zero Defect Framework within Engineering, particularly across Design related processes, risk management, and proactive quality planning activities.
  • Partner with Engineering Lean and Quality leaders to accelerate improvement execution and ensure consistent application of continuous improvement and problem-solving practices.
  • Identify systemic operational risks impacting value stream performance and drive timely escalation and resolution with Engineering and Business Line leadership.
  • Support the Steam Power Upgrade value stream by coordinating Engineering operational priorities, problem solving, and execution rigor across upgrade related programs and initiatives.
  • Drive Read Across of lessons learned, corrective actions, and improvement opportunities across Engineering teams to prevent recurrence of systemic issues.
