This role involves determining project scope, developing plans of investigation, and defining project specifications such as cost, time, and sample requirements by analyzing client input, available supplemental data, and product construction. The position may require travel to conduct or witness tests at client sites. Responsibilities include initiating and maintaining communication with clients to promote services, discuss technical issues, explain procedures and requirements, negotiate project details, and resolve client concerns. The role also involves providing technical assistance, establishing appropriate test programs by reviewing information and applying requirements, and coordinating laboratory activities. The Engineering Associate will serve as Project Handler of record, communicate project status and results through reports, and prepare Follow-Up Service Procedures. Continuous improvement concepts will be integrated into all aspects of the job. Additionally, the role involves resolving engineering issues, assisting in the development of UL requirements and special test methods, analyzing test programs, and potentially performing File Reviews or representing UL at industry functions. Adherence to the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and security practices is mandatory, along with performing other directed duties.
