About The Position

EnSafe is seeking a full-time Engineering Assistant to join their team in Tampa, Florida. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects for a global client base. The Engineering Assistant will support project engineers and senior staff with site investigations, fieldwork, sampling, remedial design and implementation, data compilation, report preparation, and proposal development. EnSafe focuses on providing practical, cost-effective strategies for compliance, liability minimization, and environmental performance improvement. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science from an ABET-accredited college in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering.
  • 0-3 years of experience (internships count towards experience).
  • Proficiency with mechanical and electrical equipment use, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to travel overnight for up to one-week periods at a time.
  • AutoCAD proficiency.
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification (with required refresher course certification).
  • EI Certification preferred or ability to take the FE Exam within 6 months.
  • Client communication and fieldwork skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with site assessments, including groundwater, soil, surface water, and air sample collection.
  • Support pilot studies, field testing, and operation and maintenance (O&M) activities for remedial systems, including operational data collection.
  • Compile, evaluate, and manage environmental data and databases.
  • Assist with drafting, modeling, statistical evaluation of data, and preparation of figures, tables, and other data presentations.
  • Support construction activities, including assisting with subcontractor coordination and oversight under supervision.
  • Assist with remedial system start-up, troubleshooting, and O&M services under the direction of project engineers.
  • Prepare and contribute to a variety of technical documents related to assessment, design, construction, O&M, and performance evaluations (e.g., work plans, design reports, construction and O&M documents, health, and safety plans).
  • Prepare for field events, including equipment procurement and rental, calibration, maintenance, and planning.
  • Support communication with clients, regulatory agencies, vendors, and subcontractors in coordination with project managers and senior staff.
