About The Position

Under the supervision of the District Maintenance Supervisor, performs non-routine and complex engineering assignments. Responsible for elements of an entire project of relatively limited scope, or a portion of a larger diverse project that may involve planning, design, construction, and/or maintenance. Performs or directs various traffic control coordination, various field surveys/investigations, preparation of plan details, inspections, measurements, and/or calculations. Supervises and assigns subordinate employees to specific tasks and functions. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Possession of a High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certification is required.
Four (4) years of full- time work experience supervising, operating, or maintaining highways and their appurtenances, such as pavement, drainage systems, bridges, and landscaping within roadway jurisdiction, which includes three (3) years of full-time work experience as a Laborer or Motor Vehicle Driver (Road Repairman); OR two (2) years full-time work experience in a supervisory or crew leader/foreman role is required.
Experience in snow and ice roadway removal operations is required.
Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance is required.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Advanced skills in engineering principles, practices, and techniques, and the use of engineering tools and devices
