You can be an Engineering Aide while completing your degree. You will work alongside engineers on an important mission while learning engineering and operational techniques and methods. This position conducts mission/program specific real time spacecraft/satellite flight/ground system operations during readiness, execution, and evaluation phases. Develops detailed plans and procedures to provide maximum mission support in areas such as orbit dynamics, satellite performance analysis, command, and control of on-orbit satellites. Provides technical direction for on orbit mission support, plans for critical vehicle malfunctions and recommends alternate operating techniques to continue maximum mission support. Provides failure analysis of the performance of the orbiting satellites via telemetry data. Utilizes system software to accomplish all spacecraft control tasks and recommends improvements. Analyzes and validates software performance. Performs flight length orbit adjust and daily special event studies. Requires successful completion of a certification program. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information, including the ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI required for the role.

Requirements

Associates degree in related discipline or equivalent experience, and/or technical training.
Completed coursework towards a related degree may be considered.
Must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Ability to work remotely
Ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI required for the role.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with on-orbit spacecraft, satellite flight, or ground system operations
Proficiency in at least one of the following: TOPL, MATLAB, JAVA, C++, PERL, ORACLE/SQL, HTML, XML, LINUX, Python, JAVA Script
Juniper or Cisco networking systems
Astrodynamics and orbital mechanics including classical orbital (Keplerian) elements
Experience with GIS software or geospatial production techniques.
