About The Position

In this role on the Colorado River Aqueduct Program Management (PM) Team, you will be responsible for managing multiple capital and/or Operations & Maintenance (O&M) projects with specific emphasis within the electrical discipline; providing project management expertise on engineering projects; and ensuring that engineering service meets Metropolitan’s standards of quality, efficiency, and technical integrity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and six years of relevant experience, of which two years must have been at the Associate Engineer level; or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years of relevant experience, of which two years must have been at the Associate Engineer level.
• Relevant Experience is defined as: experience managing capital projects, leading multidiscipline project teams, preparation of technical reports and correspondence, experience in design, construction, or project management with facility upgrades, repairs, and rehabilitations.
• Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
• License in good standing as a California Professional Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams in the day-to-day management of all Capital infrastructure project activities with specific emphasis within the electrical discipline, from planning and scoping studies to final completion.
• Obtain the project funding and authorizations through the Board letter/Board process, including making presentations to the Board.
• Closely monitor and control project scope, progress, schedules, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.
• Partner across diverse internal teams—including Conveyance & Distribution (C&D), Integrated Operations Support Services (IOPSS), Safety, Security & Protection, Treatment & Water Quality, Information Technology (IT), and Water Resources Management (WRM)—to align project goals and operational needs.
• Identify and coordinate environmental assessments, review environmental reports, and maintain documentation.
• Leverage Microsoft Project, Office applications, and the Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) system to track, update, and report on project metrics.
