About The Position

The Lindy Renaissance Charleston Hotel is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for keeping all hotel systems running smoothly and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff. You will work with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, performing daily inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance. This role requires problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to stay active. You will also handle minor carpentry, painting, and furniture repairs, and respond to emergencies such as fire alarms and power outages.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required.
Valid driver's license required, with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Ability to move objects over 50 lbs.
Ability to climb ladders.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.

Nice To Haves

Experience in hotel maintenance or a related field preferred.
Trade license (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Perform daily inspections, repairs, and fine-tuning of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and other hotel systems.
Conduct preventive maintenance on guest rooms, common spaces, and essential equipment (refrigerators, ice machines).
Handle minor carpentry, painting, and furniture repairs.
Respond to and resolve equipment issues, leaks, and electrical problems.
Address emergencies such as fire alarms and power outages.
Move objects over 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks.
Follow OSHA safety guidelines when using tools, handling chemicals, and operating machinery.
Maintain clean and safe work areas, with proper storage for tools and hazardous materials.
