About The Position

BHE GT&S has an exciting opportunity for an Engineer I, Engineer II, Sr Engineer, or Sr Engineer II at our White Oaks General Office location in Bridgeport, WV. This role is responsible for developing, designing, analyzing, and maintaining systems that uphold the data quality of gas measurement information to meet compliance requirements, prevent legal issues with customers, ensure analytical accuracy, and identify gaps in knowledge for personnel training. The position involves developing and maintaining dashboard visualizations to identify and resolve issues causing lost and unaccounted for gas, thereby maximizing fuel gas revenue, preventing measurement discrepancies, and increasing business efficiency. Additionally, the role includes auditing gas measurement test reports, managing operations procedures related to measurement equipment, and facilitating internal measurement training.

Requirements

  • Engineer I: 0-2+ years of related engineering experience
  • Engineer II: 1-3 years experience
  • Four-year ABET accredited engineering degree (Engineer)
  • Ability to monitor changes in technology with skill in developing, testing and recommending new ideas and strategies for the utilization of those changes.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering schematics, drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare technical reports, project schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Ability to lead, work independently, communicate effectively, and establish rapport.
  • Ability to define problems, collect accurate data, draw valid conclusions, and develop solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively operate a personal computer and common software applications.
  • Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an ABET accredited engineering program based on the year that the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or Possess a 4-year engineering degree from a non-ABET accredited program and a post-graduate engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same engineering discipline is ABET accredited based on the year the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or Possess a 4-year degree in Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technology and a post-graduate engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same engineering discipline is ABET accredited based on the year the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, design, analyze, and maintain systems that uphold the data quality of gas measurement information.
  • Develop and maintain dashboard visualizations to identify and resolve issues causing lost and unaccounted for gas.
  • Audit gas measurement test reports and maintain a system to track compliance issues.
  • Manage operations procedures related to measurement equipment and testing.
  • Facilitate, develop, and conduct internal measurement training.
  • Design gas measurement, regulation, and control systems for capital projects.
  • Provide engineering support to technicians, specialists, and other customers.
  • Develop reports to verify data accuracy for compliance requirements.
  • Develop dashboards for monitoring LAUFG and other measurement issues.
  • Aid in the development of software to proactively detect equipment issues via data analysis.
  • Create and improve rule-based alarms within SCADA and other applications.
  • Perform testing and evaluation of new gas measurement and gas quality equipment.
  • Manage data quality of measurement test reports.
  • Review procedures and best practices to identify issues and operational knowledge gaps.
  • Develop, standardize, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, test procedures, installation procedures, and training manuals.
  • Manage internal standards for consistency, accuracy, and accessibility.
  • Design, manage, and maintain internal SharePoint sites for Measurement Engineering & Support.
  • Organize, conduct, and develop training classes.
  • Manage the GMS and MCC Tech training classes.
  • Aid in the development and design of the new training lab.
  • Perform engineering studies of existing facilities.
  • Design, develop, and support measurement & regulation systems and facilities.
  • Manage multiple issues, projects, and personnel over a large operating area.
  • Monitor and manage a capital budget and provide support for capital projects.
  • Provide customers meter test reports as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
