About The Position

Walter P Moore is hiring an Engineer to join its Construction Engineering team. The role involves steel design, steel connection design, structural analysis, and project management for major projects in the United States and internationally. The engineer will serve clients including architects, developers, institutions, and contractors, and is expected to bring technical expertise, initiative, strong organizational and communication skills, and a customer-service-oriented approach. The position is hybrid, combining in-office and home-office work; candidates should be able to commute to or periodically travel to the affiliated office.

Requirements

At least 3 years of relevant experience in steel design, steel connection design, and structural analysis.
Demonstrated career growth that includes project management experience.
A P.E. license in the state of residence, or ability to obtain licensure within 6 months.
Proactive approach and strong organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Client-service orientation.
Ability to commute to or periodically travel to the affiliated office.

Nice To Haves

Work experience with contractors, steel fabricators, or steel erectors is strongly preferred.
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering is strongly preferred.
Experience with Tekla and Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a plus.
SAP 2000 modeling experience is a plus.
Technical specialization, proactivity, and aggressiveness in meeting client and project needs are pluses.
