About The Position

The Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical functionality and safety of the hotel’s facilities in accordance with standards to ensure a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for guests and team members. This includes routine maintenance, emergency repairs, and responding to guest and staff work orders.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or technical certification preferred.
1–3 years of experience in building maintenance, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general construction.
Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders or in confined spaces.
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Nice To Haves

EPA certification or other relevant licenses are a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance tasks including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution.
Maintain the physical appearance of the hotel, including interior and exterior areas.
Assist in preventive maintenance schedules for guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.
Monitor and operate building automation systems and respond to alerts or alarms.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and hotel policies.
Report any major repair needs or hazards to the Chief Engineer.
Assist other departments with set-ups, moves, and minor repairs as needed.
Stay up to date on safety protocols and participate in emergency procedures or drills.
