Engineer, US Expansion Planning

Micron Technology•Boise, ID

About The Position

Prepare for production in a high-volume memory manufacturing facility by calculating and presenting capital impacts of processes to be introduced at the site to senior leaders in manufacturing and R&D. Connect supply chain, finance, engineering, procurement, production, and R&D teams to execute manufacturing and cost-savings processes. Develop tools to expedite, optimize, and refine planning and reporting for site preparation, ramp, and operations. Analyze manufacturing changes, recommend improvements, optimize equipment capacity, and assess network capacity effects of process changes. Conduct financial analyses before new capital equipment purchases, including metrics optimization, process flexibility, capacity sharing, and equipment repurposing. Manage tool-utilization and capacity-planning models, and design and communicate capital change proposals using reporting tools and formal presentations. Build tools to audit capital efficiency and identify cost-reduction opportunities, and lead improvement planning and implementation across manufacturing functions. Apply programming, database, spreadsheet, and statistical methods to improve and automate planning systems and models.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Management Information System, Engineering Management, or a related field; alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in one of these fields or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Experience with model development for production and centralized planning.
  • Experience optimizing deployed and projected capital needs.
  • Experience with capital project evaluation.
  • Experience with cash flow, payback, and ROI analysis in developing web-based reporting metrics using Tableau and Python.
  • Experience with linear and nonlinear optimization.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and methods to identify and optimize key performance indicators.
